In May 2026, LarbitsSisters present a preview of Symbiotic Manufactures at LarbitsSisters Studio (Bresstraat 6): a pop-up, walk-through installation — part manufacturing landscape, part chlorophyll chapel.

Drawn from Photosynthesising Flowerpots, the installation foregrounds vessels that photosynthesise and surfaces that mineralise, paced by a micro-ecology of care rhythms: small, timed gestures of moistening, sharing light, pausing, and observing—tuning the room’s atmospheric conditions and keeping the manufacturing landscape legible as it unfolds over time.

The presentation stages clustered vessel constellations within a raked ground plane that holds and distributes moisture, creating subtle atmospheric gradients across the space. Daylight remains the primary driver, supported by blue–red grow lights when daylight falls short.

This preview unfolds independently alongside Antwerp Art Weekend as a focused moment within an ongoing body of research. It draws visitors into “symbiotic manufacture” — making-with rather than making-over — where the room’s ecology shapes the work’s structure and tempo.
