Pop Up Chlorophyll Chapel — Preview during Antwerp Art Weekend
Pop Up Chlorophyll Chapel, Photosynthesising Flowerpots • 5/05/2026

In May 2026, LarbitsSisters present Pop Up Chlorophyll Chapel at LarbitsSisters Studio: a pop-up, walk-through installation — part micro-factory, part living habitat, part chlorophyll chapel.
Emerging from Photosynthesising Flowerpots, the installation foregrounds vessels that photosynthesise and surfaces that mineralise, paced by a micro-ecology of care rhythms: small, timed gestures of moistening, sharing light, pausing and observing. These gestures slowly transforms the room’s atmospheric conditions and keep the installation legible as it unfolds over time.
Chlorophyll Chapel stages clustered vessel constellations within a raked ground plane that holds and distributes moisture, shaping subtle atmospheric gradients across the space. Sunlight remains the primary driver, supported by blue–red grow lights when daylight falls short.
This preview marks a public moment within a longer artistic and scientific research process. The studio becomes not only a presentation space, but also a living environment: a place where materials can breathe, grow and mineralise even when nobody is watching.
