At Gentler Futures Festival 2026 in Lisbon, LarbitsSisters will present Symbiotic Manufacture, a site-specific installation conceived in response to the festival theme Towards Ecosystem Regeneration.

Developed from Photosynthesising Flowerpots, the project explores symbiotic manufacture as a way of making with living and mineral processes. Within the site-specific installation at JAM Lisbon, biomaterials, photosynthetic microorganisms, light, moisture and care interact to form a slow manufacturing landscape where vessels breathe, grow, dry and mineralise.

The installation will take shape during a residency at JAM Lisbon from 29 May to 6 June 2026, presented during Gentler Futures Festival on 5–6 June, and remain on view throughout June.
