ISEA 2020 has gone virtual
Talk & Panel Discussion, Bitsoil Tax & Hack campaign • 17/10/2020
Today, the theme of ISEA2020 – Why Sentience? – resonates more than ever. What does it mean to feel and to perceive during these unstable times? How do we foster connections across communities, generations, and borders through a screen? The value of our innate differences and the ways in which we come together is critical to our current survival and growth.
Due to the restrictions caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, ISEA 2020 has gone virtual. For the first time in the history of the symposium, ISEA2020 will be taking on the challenge of presenting in digital format artworks that were meant to be experienced in a physical venue. Each artwork will be presented on both the ISEA2020 online platform and on a dedicated website. We are trilled of being part of this 100% online edition of ISEA with Bitsoil Popup Tax and Hack Campaign that will be streamed live from the New Media Gallery in Vancouver to the ISEA2020 exhibition platform.
On Saturday, October 17 2020 a Virtual Talk and Panel discussion will be live streamed directly from New Media Gallery and accessible to all on ISEA2020 online platform. The panel will focus on internet-based artwork Bitsoil Popup Tax and Hack Campaign. A short Artist Talk will be followed by a conversation with Dr. Cissie Fu, Ami Iaria and curators Joyce + Duggan. The panel will discuss the Digital Economy (Blockchain, Cryptocurrency & Data) in a virtualized social fabric, political and societal issues related to immigration, the refugee crisis and the right to have rights.
